Let's face it, we would all like to drink pure and healthy water but the home reverse osmosis systems are not the right solution. On the contrary in fact, they can actually damage your health and future well-being. Discover the facts today.
Home reverse osmosis systems are little changed from their industrial counterparts that were designed for the paper industries years ago to provide demineralized water.
While this type may be good for industry or your car battery, it is not good for humans!
Even the World Health Organization (WHO) states that water should contain essential trace minerals like calcium and potassium, the very ones that the RO systems remove. So whatever the salesmen try to say, or the website states about good health, I would be more inclined to agree with the WHO.
So to say you can achieve better health through reverse osmosis is not true. To make matters worse, their old-fashioned filter cannot remove the modern menace of man-made synthetic chemicals because they are too small.
These include pesticides, herbicides and pharmaceuticals like prescription drugs.
A recent study of 29 major U.S. cities by the Environmental Working Group found that all 29 cities had traces of at least one weed killer in the drinking water. The study called "Weed Killers by the Glass" went on to state that "millions of Americans are routinely exposed to one or more pesticides in a single glass of tap water."
Another reason to avoid home reverse osmosis systems is the sheer amount of water they waste. They will actually discard up to 80% of what they use and this water cannot be recycled due to the chemicals used.
In these more environmentally aware times, it's just unacceptable to have such a huge amount of waste, especially as it's unnecessary as there are some great alternatives.
So what is the best type of system today?
Well the only type that can remove the contaminants today, or at least 99% of them including the synthetic ones, is an activated carbon block filter.
This is able to chemically and physically remove the contaminants with the best ones using a twin cartridge system and ion exchange. The first cartridge removes the bad smells, tastes and all of the chlorine while the second focuses on removing the lead and synthetic chemicals.
In addition they cost far less than the RO systems, keep the minerals intact and waste very little water.
Now you know why you should steer clear of home reverse osmosis systems, why not look for a quality carbon one instead and protect the health and future well-being of your family.
